IMPHAL, June 24: The All Manipur Petroleum Tankers Driver Union has said that in case there is any threat or pressure from anybody to the president of the union, the truck drivers will initiate a “steering off” agitation and stop feeding fuel to the state depots, informed the union during a press conference at the Inter State Bus Terminal, Deulahland.

A spokesperson of the union further lamented the recent incident when an armed outfit had placed a monetary demand to the president of the union.

He said, there is no assistance from the government and the truckers have to fend for themselves and as such it is already hard for them to manage.

He further appealed to the concerned authorities to look into the issue and further appealed to the public to co-operate with the union.
