Thoubal: The foundation day of Leimapokpam Muhindro High School, Thoubal Athokpam was held.
MLA of Khangabok AC, Okram Surjakumar, Thoubal Municipal Council ward no 6 Councillor Kh Bishorjit and Thoubal College Principal Okram Chaoba Devi attended the event as dignitaries.
Floral tributes were paid to the late founders of the school by the dignitaries.
Meanwhile, the New Public Higher Secondary School in Khangabok also celebrated its 20th foundation day at its school campus in which Charangpat Zilla Parishad member P Heramani, Khangabok Zilla Parishad member Kh Rajmohon, Sangaiyumpham Zilla Parishad member Md Hibjur Rahaman, New Public Higher Secondary School Chairman M Rameshwor were present as dignitaries among others.
Later, an award distribution ceremony for the students of the school who excelled in their respective classes, achieved national level awards and scored highest marks in the HSLC examination was also held.

Kakching: A meeting on protection of wildlife and migratory birds at Khoidumpat and its surrounding areas was held today, in which Range Forest Officer, Kakching N Munal Meitei and Honorary District Wildlife Warden, Thoubal W Ramachandra, Hiyanglam Gram Panchayat members and local clubs attended.
The meeting was held at Hiyanglam Gram Panchayat Pradhan Shanti Devi, reports our correspondent.
The meeting decided to follow the rule and regulations set for wild life and migratory birds and further resolved to extend maximum support to Forest Department to safeguard them properly.
During the meeting, DFO/Thoubal Divisional Forest Officer, Thoubal RK Amarjit expressed the desire to turn Khoidumpat into a community reserve.
Range Forest Officer, Kakching N Munal Meitei urged all the people to safeguard Khoidumpat and Pumlenpat with a view to promote eco-tourism in the State.

Police community liaison meeting

Tengnoupal: The monthly police community liaison group meeting was organised by Moreh police at the conference hall of Hill Tribal Council (HTC), Moreh today.
The meeting deliberated on the transfer of the sole gynaecologist of Moreh hospital without sending a substitute and the unavailability of MST bus ticket by passengers of Moreh.
It also expressed the desire for the police personnel to continue their duty longer at Moreh Bazar and also discussed on the recent incidents which occurred at the no man’s land lying between Myanmar and border area of the State.
ADC Chandel member Chinneivah Haokip, Moreh police SDPO Lawrence, Capt Sandeep of 11 AR, SI, Akbar, other officials, MCM, HTC, MMCM, Tamil Sangam, Gurkha Samaj, Indo Myanmar Workers Forum Moreh, ACODOM, Kha Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup, Moreh hospital doctors, ADC Moreh staff, SBI bank Moreh staff, KWU & HR Moreh were present in the meeting.

IMPHAL, Jan 15:A team of Pallel police led by OC, Pallel police station, MS Heisnam disposed a huge quantity of liquor in front of Pallel police station yesterday evening.
The liquor comprising of Indian Made Foreign Liquor and local liquor were seized by the team from Pallel bazar yesterday. According to the police, the IMFL and local liquor would be worth around Rs 10,000.
Speaking to media persons, The OC stated that the liquor were seized as part of the security measures taken up by Pallel police ahead of the Republic Day.
He said that four boxes of IMFL (Old Monk, OC Blue etc) were found abandoned in the market art around 8.30 pm.
