IMPHAL, March 9: A combined team of Imphal West district Police commandos 116 BSF B company arrested an active member of KCP (Noyon faction) today from Thongju Part-II Pechu Lampak, following a credible information, said a press release of the SP, Imphal West district police.
The arrested individual was identified as Yumnam Ibohal alias Sunil alias Nanao Singh, 28, s/o (L) Y. Shamu Singh of Pechu Lampak.
It said that on sport verification the individual disclosed that he was working under the command of Lingjel Devi for the last one year. He was assigned to extort money from various department officials for party fund. And a mobile hand set was seized from his possession, the release added.

IMPHAL, Mar 8: The power drive of state electricity department was conducted in areas of Haobam Marak Chingtham Leikai, Thouda-Bhabok, Keishampat Aribam Leikai, Thangal Bazar and New Lambulane under IED-I, Awang Khunou Maning Leikai, Tabungkhok Makha Leikai and Naoremthong Khullem Leikai under IED-II, Wangkhei Meihoubam Leirak, Khongman Mangjin, Keikhu, Pheija Leitong, Singjamei Sougrakpam Leikai and Leishangthem Leikai under IED-III and Kongpal KongkhamLeikai, Pangei Nepali Basti under IMD.
Altogether 10 unauthorized consumers were booked and lines of 137 defaulting consumers were disconnected during the drive.Rs 6, 46, 803 was also collected from the spot bill collection. So far the electricity department has collected Rs 5, 25, 66, 956 from the outstanding due bill of the consumers.

IMPHAL, March 8: During bi-annual inspection of 69 BN, CRPF R.C. Tayal, IPS, 1GP M&N Sector, CRPF, Imphai a programme was organized at 69 BN, CRPF, Mantripukhrl, Imphal in which water purifier, nutrition food items and personal sanitary articles have been distributed to children/staff of Mother Teresa Orphanage Home, Mantripukhri, Imphal today. Among the orphans 07 boys and 07 girls were below the age of 04 year.

The sister in charge of the orphans home requested to donate solar light for the use of orphans as there is no electricity in the home. The IGP has assured to donate it and also desired to adopt the home by the 69 BN, CRPF. U.B. Mishra, commandant expressed his happiness for adopting the orphans home, he informed that he had conducted such programmes earlier also for Mother Teresa Home, Imphal, Children Home, Lethngkhol, Chtngmelrong, Imphal and Stepping Stone Home, National Games village, Langol will continue in future also. It was followed by interaction with jawans over tea and snacks said the released.

Sources said the persons were identified as Siankhanmung , 45, s/o Pumkhanmang from Zenhang lamka , Mohamad Rajauddin ,31, s/o Mohammad Judin from Kamlathong Makha Leikai and Nanao alias Rajuddin , 26, s/o Nasid Ali from Kwakta Village.
The trio had stolen 14/15 Activa mopeds and another 20 bikes from the town so far, added the sources In yet another development the ZRA have also seized drugs like Relipen, Spasmoproxivon , Nitrosun used as intoxicants and some quantities of Heroin No.4 and burnt it down at an undisclosed place today.

Lamka Mar 5: The 35th Raising day of Group Centre, CRPF, Imphal was celebrated in a befitting manner today at the group centre, Lanjing.
A statement issued by the official of the CRPF said that as a part of the celebration the DIGP, Group centre, CRPF, P.S Rajora, officers and other ranks paid befitting tributes to the martyrs.
A grand fete was also organized in which various eateries and entertainment stalls were put up. The fete was inaugurated by R.C Tayal. IGP, Manipur & Nagaland sector.
It said that the response of the fete was overwhelming which witnessed huge turn out of CRPF personnel and families from all over Imphal as well as civilians.
Further inauguration of a basket ball court and launching of a movie theater “The Lanjing studio” by R.C Tayal, IGP Manipur and Nagaland sector, marked the conclusion of the celebration.
