Lamka Mar 5: The 35th Raising day of Group Centre, CRPF, Imphal was celebrated in a befitting manner today at the group centre, Lanjing.
A statement issued by the official of the CRPF said that as a part of the celebration the DIGP, Group centre, CRPF, P.S Rajora, officers and other ranks paid befitting tributes to the martyrs.
A grand fete was also organized in which various eateries and entertainment stalls were put up. The fete was inaugurated by R.C Tayal. IGP, Manipur & Nagaland sector.
It said that the response of the fete was overwhelming which witnessed huge turn out of CRPF personnel and families from all over Imphal as well as civilians.
Further inauguration of a basket ball court and launching of a movie theater “The Lanjing studio” by R.C Tayal, IGP Manipur and Nagaland sector, marked the conclusion of the celebration.

From Kaimuanthang.Lamka Mar 5: In a drive carried out against vehicle lifters in and around the Lamka town during the last several days, the ZRA have succeeded in nabbing 3 hard core leaders engaged in the business according to sources.
Sources said the persons were identified as Siankhanmung , 45, s/o Pumkhanmang from Zenhang lamka , Mohamad Rajauddin ,31, s/o Mohammad Judin from Kamlathong Makha Leikai and Nanao alias Rajuddin , 26, s/o Nasid Ali from Kwakta Village.
The trio had stolen 14/15 Activa mopeds and another 20 bikes from the town so far, added the sources In yet another development the ZRA have also seized drugs like Relipen, Spasmoproxivon , Nitrosun used as intoxicants and some quantities of Heroin No.4 and burnt it down at an undisclosed place today.

IMPHAL March 4: 29 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under aegis of Headquarter IGAR (South) conducted a Medical Camp for the villagers of Ril Ram Centre village. The Medical Officers and a team of paramedical staff attended to more than 323 men, women and children from Ril Ram Centre, Kampang Khunou, Lamlong, Chalktong, Sita, Shaibol, Narum, Waksu, Kharau Khunou, Kharau Khullen and other neighbouring villages.

In yet another occasion, the unit in association with district health authority conducted a pulse polio camp for the children of Tengnoupal village. More than 254 children were given pulse polio drops and medicine was also distributed to the villagers, the release added.

IMPHAL March 3: A notification from the Executive Engineer ,Water Supply and Maintenance Division-I of PHE Department states that water to consumers will be resumed from the new pipelines along Wahengbam Leikai to Keisampat till Tera.
The release further states that an exercise consisting of on the spot verification ,reconnection and regularization of consumers and tariff will be conducted for the areas of Waheng Leikai-Moirtang Leirak, Waheng Leikai `“Kangabam Leirak from March 4 onwards. Consumers  are requested to comply and provide connection order along with latest tax receipts and 12.50 mm GI pipes to be arranged by the consumers. The notification states that official staff for collection of water rent will be available at Waheng Leikai and Ebudhou Khamlangba Laikol Moirang Leirak from March 4 to 10, during office hours.

IMPHAL, Mar 3: While supporting the stance taken by the Lamsang Kendra Development Committee against the Lamsang MLA Brajabidhu, the proscribed KCP (Maoist) has today announced that the ban on the works of the MLA which had been earlier by the outfit has been further strengthen. 
A statement of KCP (Maoist) signed by its assistant publicity secretary and propaganda Nonglen Meitei has further stated that some people with vested interest and pocketed by the MLA had criticized the ban put upon the MLA by the outfit, however, it further added that the party has not changed the ban put upon the MLA.
According to the release the party has only strengthen the ban.

A sum of Rs 9,63,047 was collected from 144 persons who paid at the site. IMPHAL, Mar 1: The proscribed KCP (Maoist) has announced ban on the works undertaken by MLA of Lamsang assembly constituency, Brajabidhu for alleged misappropriation of local development fund.

A statement of KCP (Maoist) signed by its assistant publicity secretary and propaganda Nonglen Meitei said that the party has taken up the decision to ban MLA Brajabidhu following misappropriation of local area development fund as well as PDS items which are supposed to be given to the people.

The MLA has been working for his own benefits at the cost of the people’s money and properties, it said.

The statement also mentioned that the misdeeds of minister Parijat and other MLAs of the ruling party will be highlighted to the public very soon.

IMPHAL, March 1: The Kangleipak Communist Party Military Council KCP (MC) in a statement issued by the outfit’s secretary Military Affairs, Lanheiba Meitei, has call on the people and as well as the representatives for a joint participation to ensure the implementation the Inner Line Permit system (ILP) to save threatened people of the land due to migrant influx and flush out migrants from the state.

It recalled that the ILP was removed in November, 18, 1950, by the then commissioner and an agent of India, Himat Singh.

It said that since the removal of the ILP the migrant influx has adversely disturbed the peaceful atmosphere of indigenous people of the state. There has been many instances of these migrants carrying out indecent and immoral act to the local girls and woman of the state.

It observed that remaining silent spectator with the concept that “it had never occurred to my family would be wrong” adding it stress the need for unanimous stand of the people on the issue in order to prevent it in the interest of the future generation.

It said that the need of the hour is to organized various activities like “panel discussion with representatives from senior citizens and intellects on account of foreigner entry into Kangleipak, to organized “a debate competition on inner line permit is required in Kangleipak” for the awareness of the student communities and refresh the issue, at the same time organized a community level open discussion on the matter and take unanimous resolution for the need to implement the Inner Line Permit besides presurising the concerned authority to table the issue in the Assembly.

IMPHAL 28 Feb: A patient of snakebite was treated by 12 MARATHA LI today evening. The victim identified as Suresh Yumnam (25), Waheng Khuman of Bishnupur district was bitten by a viper while working in a paddy field. He was later taken to 12 MARATHA LI for treatment . The individual was administred life saving antisnake venom therapy by the unit`s medical officer and paramedical staff and was sent back home after 5 hours of observation post treatment,a press release said.

IMPHAL Feb 28: Continuing with the endeavor to assist and support social institutions in the state, 40 blankets were donated by Sandhya Krishnan, President of ARWWA HQ IGAR(South) and Major General CA Krishnan,to children of Kapaar Kachoung Orphanage and Children Education Centre,Kakching Lamkhai in a ceremony organized at the orphanage premises in the presence of children and staff of the orphanage alongwith other civil dignitaries.A PRO(AR) release states that,the Kapaar Kachoung Orphanage and children Education Centre was established in 2004 with an aim to up uplift and educate the orphaned children. The Orphanage is governed by Kapaar Kachoung Development society and headed by Shonmai Saka as Principal. The orphanage accommodates 40 orphaned children including 17 girls and 23 boys from Meitei,Kuki and Naga tribes boarding and studying together.

The IGAR(South) praised the governing body of the orphanage for running a School in the same campus and termed it as a great ray of hope for a bright future of the children. He also assured of providing assistance in future to the institution. The children had organised a small musical program on the occasion.
