KOHIMA, May 12 (NEPS):<\/b> The Opposition Congress has once again stated that it would not be able to go together with the NPF-led DAN Government in Nagaland as the BJP was part of the government and further disclosed that they had already served \u201cshow cause notice\u201d to their MLAs on May 9 to reply within seven days after their joining the TR Zeliang government on May 8.<\/p>\n

The \u201cshow cause notice\u201d served to the eight Congress MLAs issued on May 9 by V Narayanasamy, In-charge of AICC North Eastern States, said, \u201cYou are called upon to explain within seven days, why action should not be initiated against you for violating the Party directions and joined the NPF Government headed by Shri TR Zeliang along with BJP MLA in the ministry. You are suspended from the Congress Party forthwith.\u201d<\/p>\n

Talking to media persons here at the Congress Bhavan Tuesady, newly appointed NPCC president Kewekhape Therie said the BJP\u2019s religious intolerance was prevalent in every nook and corner of the country. And therefore, they could never go together with this \u201ccommunal political party.\u201d \u201cThe stand of the Congress is we are unable to compromise our ideology with the communal political party,\u201d he said alleging BJP\u2019s \u201cideology\u201d was against their \u201csocial structure and way of Naga life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Giving a strong message to the BJP-led NDA government and their alliance government in Nagaland, the former finance minister in the first DAN government asserted that they did not \u201capprove\u201d the religious intolerance happening in the country after the coming of the BJP to power at the Center.<\/p>\n

Expressing hope that their party MLAs would realize danger of going together with the \u201ccommunal political party,\u201d the NPCC chief believed that good sense would prevail upon their legislators and they would be able to \u201camicably settle.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are our Congress members (Congress MLAs) and they are still and they will continue to be our members,\u201d Therie pointed out. He, however, made it clear that the party (Congress) would not be able to \u201ccompromise our political ideology\u201d with the \u201ccommunal political party\u201d whose ideology was against secular fabric of the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wonder why the NPF has no hesitation in going together with the BJP despite several explanations cited elsewhere in the nation if they are Nagas and the Christian,\u201d the NPCC chief questioned. \u201cThey (NPF) should feel that it is not appropriate on their part to govern with this communal political party.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Zeliang as Chief Minister, the NPCC chief doubted that he (Zeliang) would be able to deliver to the people because of the complex \u201celements\u201d that were surrounding him. \u201cOtherwise, he (Zeliang) is a good man,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
