{"id":134372,"date":"2015-05-21T10:57:16","date_gmt":"2015-05-21T14:57:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.manipur.org\/news\/?guid=5cca7936c886035d4a99e915630528fb"},"modified":"2015-05-21T10:57:16","modified_gmt":"2015-05-21T14:57:16","slug":"chief-minister-seeks-centres-intervention-on-dzuko-land-dispute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.manipur.org\/news\/2015\/05\/21\/chief-minister-seeks-centres-intervention-on-dzuko-land-dispute\/","title":{"rendered":"Chief Minister seeks Centre`s intervention on Dzuko land dispute"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_54735\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kanglaonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/dzuko-valley-1.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox-0\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-54735\" src=\"http:\/\/kanglaonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/dzuko-valley-1.jpg\" alt=\"View of Dzuko Valley, Manipur\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">View of Dzuko Valley, Manipur<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>IMPHAL, May 21: `We would not compromise on the issue of encroachment on the State`\u2122s territorial integrity,`\u009d stated Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh reacting to reports of alleged land encroachment at Dzuko Valley by Southern Angami Naga People`\u2122s Organisation of Nagaland.<\/p>\n<p>However, since the issue is between two States, the Centre should intervene and monitor the issue at the earliest before it gets worst, he observed.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Minister was speaking on the sideline of the 24th death anniversary of former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi today.<\/p>\n<p>The day marked as the `Anti-Terrorism Day`\u2122 was observed at the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Ibobi said, his government will thoroughly survey the area and proper demarcation of the State`\u2122s territory will be marked at the earliest so as to ensure that there is no further encroachment.<\/p>\n<p>Referring to the recent incident of a Congress worker being brutally assaulted by cadres of NSCN-IM at Ukhrul, the Chief Minister said such violation has been going on since the last many years.<\/p>\n<p>He continued to prevent such frequent incident of kidnapping, torturing and threatening the workers of the party, the government will deploy the army, Assam Rifles and various other defense forces in areas where the situation is critical.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Minister further said that the militant outfit should deal with the Centre since their peace talk is with the Centre and not with the State.<\/p>\n<p>Today`\u2122s observation was also attended by deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam who is also the president of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, ministers, party MLAs and others.<\/p>\n<p>Floral tributes were also paid to the late Prime Minister as part of the observation.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"syndicated-attribution\">Read more \/ Original news source: <a href=\"http:\/\/kanglaonline.com\/2015\/05\/chief-minister-seeks-centres-intervention-on-dzuko-land-dispute\/\">http:\/\/kanglaonline.com\/2015\/05\/chief-minister-seeks-centres-intervention-on-dzuko-land-dispute\/<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IMPHAL, May 21: `We would not compromise on the issue of encroachment on the State`&trade;s territorial integrity,`&#157;
