{"id":157138,"date":"2015-09-16T10:59:56","date_gmt":"2015-09-16T14:59:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.manipur.org\/news\/?guid=ce06f89eb9e08af172bba38782a9ab4b"},"modified":"2015-09-16T10:59:56","modified_gmt":"2015-09-16T14:59:56","slug":"six-passengers-killed-as-vehicle-plunges-into-gorge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.manipur.org\/news\/2015\/09\/16\/six-passengers-killed-as-vehicle-plunges-into-gorge\/","title":{"rendered":"Six passengers killed as vehicle plunges into gorge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>IMPHAL, September 16: At least six persons including a girl child lost their lives when a Tata Sumo passenger vehicle they were travelling veered off track and fell into a deep gorge near Awangkhul Part II along National Highway-37 (Imphal-Jiribam Road) under Noney Police Station, Tamenglong district today around 3 pm.<\/p>\n<p>According to reliable reports, the ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number AS-11-BC-7960 with 11 passengers was heading towards Imphal from Jiribam when its driver lost control and plunged into a 300-meter deep gorge killing six of them and injuring several others.<\/p>\n<p>Identity of the deceased could not be ascertained till the time of filing this report.<\/p>\n<p>The injured persons were administered first aid by railway workers and security personnel. As condition of five of them is said to be in critical, the death toll may rise.<\/p>\n<p>The six deceased persons have been brought to Imphal by police.
