\nImphal, Dec 26: Indefinite bandh has been called on at Moreh and NH 39 to protest against the firing by the security of Myanmar Army posted at Namphalong injuring a 15 year old boy identified as Md. Abdul Noor of Moreh ward No. Five yesterday around one p.m.
\nThe boy was playing football at Muslim Nagar when the security fired one round and hit him in his left thigh.
\nAnother round was fired however it did not hit the boys.
\nFollowing the incident, angry crowd shouted slogans however the situation was brought under control.
\nThe Myanmarese authority apologized for the firing and assured not to repeat such incident in future.
\nA public meeting participated by community leaders was held at LP School, ward No. Five Moreh Muslim Nagar this morning around seven and decided to call indefinite bandh at Moreh and NH 39 until a solution is brought.
\nA press statement issued by HQ IGAR S said s 16 year old boy namely Abdul Noor son of Abdul Barik sustained a gun shot wound in the leg due to a bullet fired accidentally from across the IB in Ward No 5 Moreh by Myanmar Army. Troops of 31 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under aegis HQ IGAR (South) immediately reached at the site of incident. Beside taking control of the situation and pacifying the general public, troops of Assam Rifles brought the individual to unit MI Room and provided Life Saving First aid. Later on the individual was evacuated to RIMS, Imphal and his condition is reported to be stable at present. An emergency meeting was held with Myanmar Army and civil administration officials. During the meeting the Myanmar Army stated that the firing took place due to the accidental discharge of personal weapon by one of their soldier. Myanmar Army apologised about the mishappening and informed that necessary action is being initiated against the soldier. <\/p>\n\n
