\nImphal, Jan 18: Two suspected militants were shot dead at Imphal East today around 2.30 pm by Manipur police personnel. Police said an encounter took place between suspected militants coming in a Maruti van bearing no MN 01x 1004 with Manipur police personnel.
\nIn the encounter both the occupants of the vehicle were killed. The police team called in bomb experts and the bomb experts found three and half kg of RDX and other powerful bombs, batteries. Both the bodies were kept at JNIMS for identification and post mortem.
\nSome unknown persons blasted a hand grenade at the residence of one Akoijam Bijay of Tera Sapam leirak this early morning around one a.m.
\nNo casualties were reported in the blast.
