IMPHAL, Jun 30: The Liangmai Naga Council, Manipur (LNC-M) has written to the Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) and Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) \u2018requesting\u2019 the two bodies to strike out \u201cliang\u201d from the nomenclature Zeliangrong . The LNC(M) also said that \u201cwe have no other option but to disassociate ourselves from every social organization of the erstwhile Zeliangrong bodies\u201d. The Liangmai apex body also explained the reasons for its move in its letters to the Zeliangrong Baudi and Zeliangrong Union.
\nThe LNC(M) recalled the decision taken in Liangmai People\u2019s Convention held on October 9, 2015, at Konsaram village. \u201cThe decision was to disassociate from Zeliangrong organizations if they stand and promote Zeliangrong as a tribe,\u201d the LNC said.<\/p>\n
