IMPHAL, Jul 25:A winger heading from Imphal to Chassad met with a grave accident today at around 10. 05 am when it took a sharp turn and collided with a truck laden with wooden logs coming from the opposite direction.
\nThe impact of the accident was such that the winger was thrown away by around 10 meters. Hearing about the accident, a team of 17 Assam Rifles headed by ARMO Asst Comdt Robin Goyal rushed to the location and provided necessary first aid to the injured, a statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (S) informed.
\nOut of the ten passengers that were travelling in the winger, four were critically injured and two had minor injuries. The injuries varied from major and minor cuts, head injuries, torn muscles to internal injuries. Wherever necessary, stitches were applied. Four of the injured were given complete treatment and sent back to their villages. Remaining two were referred to Imphal for further management after providing necessary first aid, it added.<\/p>\n
