IMPHAL, Jan 2: Army organised a painting competition for school children at Lamdan in Bishnupur district on December 31. The aim of the event was to encourage the creative spirit amongst the children and infuse a taste for fine arts in them, said a press release from PIB Defence Wing.
\nThe event witnessed a wide participation of people from over four villages. A total of 33 children of different age groups exhibited their creative talents in the competition.
\nThe event culminated with prize distribution. Joshua Gangmei of Loyola School won the first prize in below 8 years category, while Babei Meiringmei of Loyola School stood first in the 8-14 years of age category and Lungnailu Maringmei emerged first in the 14 to 20 years category.
\nThe locals expressed their appreciation towards Army for providing a stage to the young minds to showcase their beautiful art pieces, added the release.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
