Ranchi:<\/strong> Manipur opens its medal account on 34th National Games with 7 Medals including 2 Gold Medals on the first day. It can be remembered that Manipur was the champion of the last National Games and it is speculated from various circles that Manipur contingent will fight its way to defend the Champion title this year as well.<\/p>\n

Opening Ceremony:<\/span> As reported by Times of India, the opening ceremony of the 34th National Games was inaugurated by M O H Farook, Governor of Jharkhand at its capital Ranchi. “It is a red letter day in history of Jharkhand,” said Farook.<\/p>\n

The teams participated in a march past, led by the Services contingent. The contingent of Manipur, the last Games’s champions, was the second in the march past.<\/p>\n

A total of 28 states and five union territories took part in the march past.<\/p>\n
