{"id":46551,"date":"2012-11-09T19:39:53","date_gmt":"2012-11-10T00:39:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/manipur-mail.com\/?p=13210"},"modified":"2012-11-09T19:39:53","modified_gmt":"2012-11-10T00:39:53","slug":"nagaland%e2%80%99s-goodwill-mission-to-assam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.manipur.org\/news\/2012\/11\/09\/nagaland%e2%80%99s-goodwill-mission-to-assam\/","title":{"rendered":"Nagaland\u2019s goodwill mission to Assam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GUWAHATI, Nov 9 NNN:\u00a0 An eight-member team of Assam-Nagaland goodwill team called on Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi here on Friday.<br \/>\nThe members of the team said the people of Nagaland want solution to the long festering Assam-Nagaland border imbroglio amicably and peacefully outside the jurisdiction of the apex court. \u201cThe matter should be resolved outside the court with both sides arriving at a mutually agreed solution through give and take policy. Towards this end we have the blessings of our chief minister Neiphiu Rio and various organisations,\u201d said Tali Longkunar.<br \/>\nThe members while expressing concern over the dispute between the two neighbouring States, pointed out that the issue should be resolved mutually and amicably in the greater interests of the region as a whole.<br \/>\nThe members while apprising Gogoi about the talks they have had with organisations such as Asom Sahitya Sabha and All Assam Students\u2019 Union, said they expressed their willingness for a peaceful solution to the vexed issue once and for all. \u201cThere were no two opinions on the issue of resolving the border dispute,\u201d said Thetsulhougi Solo.<br \/>\nThe members were of the opinion that the resolving of the vexed border dispute between Nagaland and Assam would have a great impact on the overall economic development of the entire region.<br \/>\nGogoi while lauding the attempt made by the members of the Assam-Nagaland goodwill team said he would be too happy if the peoples of both the states decide to resolve the border row mutually and amicably. \u201cI will be too happy if the peoples of both sides sit together and arrive at a mutual understanding. Mutual resolution to any problem is the best solution.
