{"id":48039,"date":"2012-11-29T19:24:36","date_gmt":"2012-11-30T00:24:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/manipur-mail.com\/?p=13639"},"modified":"2012-11-29T19:24:36","modified_gmt":"2012-11-30T00:24:36","slug":"jlf-for-resignation-of-all-nagaland-mlas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.manipur.org\/news\/2012\/11\/29\/jlf-for-resignation-of-all-nagaland-mlas\/","title":{"rendered":"JLF for resignation of all Nagaland MLAs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DIMAPUR, Nov 29: \u201cThe Joint Legislature Forum (JLF) has resolved to pave way by resigning from their present positions, in the event of an honourable and acceptable solution but that does not mean that we should resign before the solution comes. Such a scenario will create a crisis and has the possibility of bringing about imposition of President\u2019s rule. Nagas have greatly suffered whenever President\u2019s rule was imposed.\u201d<br \/>\nJLF is floated by 60 Nagaland legislative assembly to push for the early Naga solution.<br \/>\nThis was stated by Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio in the 7th General Conference (Convention) of the Naga People\u2019s Front held in Dimapur Stadium today.<br \/>\nBoth Neiphiu Rio and NPF president \u2018Shurhozelie Liezietsu said today\u2019s NPF convention was crucial one because \u201cthis may be the last general convention before a solution to the protracted Indo-Naga political problem is brought about.\u201d However, both the leaders alerted the gathering to be ready for election saying that if no solution is arrived at before the assembly election date is due, \u201cwe should be ready to face it.\u201d<br \/>\nAbout ten thousand NPF members from Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and from all the districts of Nagaland participated in today\u2019s convention.<br \/>\n\u201cTo go to Heaven, Jesus Christ is the only way while to do anything on earth we have to go through politics,\u201d asserted Neiphiu Rio and said that NPF is a party floated so that Nagas from all nook and corners will share a common political platform to assert their rights. \u201cIf we cannot integrate ourselves physically today, emotional and political integration are possibly and here NPF is the right platform,\u201d the Naga chief minister added. \u201cWe are spending our energy and resources in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam for our future,\u201d further asserted Neiphiu Rio. \u201cThe Naga people have been struggling for decades in our search for lasting peace. We desire to live together as a people as we are all members of the same family. Our adversaries had divided and placed us in four Indian states and in two countries\u2014India and Myanmar,\u201d the chief minister stated. Rio then said that Nagas wherever they are, their culture, identity and food habit are the same. \u201cBecause we are one people\u2014the Naga people,\u201d Neiphiu Rio added.<br \/>\nRio then expressed optimism that the NPF will open its account in Arunachal Pradesh in the next assembly election.<br \/>\nNPF chief Dr Shurhozielie said in his presidential speech,\u201d In the event of a political settlement arrived at, we will not stand on the way but pave the way by stepping down from our position to allow any alternative arrangement to come and stay any day, any hour.\u201d \u201cFor any eventuality let us, therefore, make the best use of this convention to remind ourselves of our political stand, our policies and principles and also bring better understanding among our rank and file so that all of us can remain firm to hold our fort,\u201d alerted the NPF chief.<br \/>\nNPF leaders from Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and elsewhere spoke on the occasion.
