AIZAWL, Dec 14 NNN: As there have been erratic power supply continues in Mizoram, the Mizo National Front (MNF) youths have no other option but to criticise Mizoram chief minister Lal Thanhawla in a peculiar manner.
\nCandles named after the chief minister christened as \u201cHawla Current\u201d were distributed to the people by the MNF youths on Thursday in front of Vanapa Hall in Aizawl.
\n\u201cHawla\u2019 is a shorter name for Lal Thanhawla popularly called by the Mizos.
\nThe leaders of MNF youths held its last meeting for the year at Mizo Hnam R\u00fbn, in which they declared \u2018Rescuing Zoram\u2019 as their yearly theme for 2013.
\nThe MNF youths meeting was attended by the party president and former chief minister Zoramthanga.
\nThe MNF president in his speech said that the MNF youths who uphold the theme \u2018For God and for our land\u201d cannot behave like others, adding, \u201cMay be the Congress party people (of Mizoram) celebrates puja, which is what they ought to do. But for MNF there are things which are not nice and ought not to do. Since we are those who uphold the principles of the Mizo nation, as such we shall avoid which are not nice for a Christian and a Mizo to do\u201d.
\nGiven that there is acute disruption of power supply these days in the State, the MNF youths distributed candles which they called \u2018Hawla current\u2019.
\nMNF youth wing president, P.C Laltlansanga, who spoke before distributing candles, said, \u201cDuring the 10 years\u2019 rule of MNF, there had been winter too, and the vais (non-Mizos) had also celebrated puja every year but never was so much electricity problem as it happens now during the Congress government. P.C Laltlansanga also said that whenever the Congress comes to rule, there is a shortage odf LPG supply as well as the erratic electricity supply, adding, \u201cSince they are very much annoyed with the power supply provided on alternative manner, we have to disdribute the candles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
