\nImphal, Feb 24 : The Sr Publicity officer of UNLF, Ksh Yoihenba today said the government which is trying desperately every possible way to undermine UNLF Chairman Sanayaima and 14 other cadres including two Central Committee members to negotiating terms like the other insurgent groups of the region which GOI could ensnare in their peace talk trap; is at a loss at the rock solid firmness with which UNLF Chairman and the cadres\u2019 stand for sovereignty and independence of Manipur.
\nThis time the Indian government allegedly misled the general public. The story reported on dated 20 Feb \u201913, on some Guwahati based TV channels DY- 365, NETV, etc, and an Assamese daily \u201cAsomia Protidin\u201d that UNLF Chairman Sana Yaima @ Meghen has begun \u201cpeace talks\u201d with representatives of India Government through Video Conference from Dispur is totally baseless, mischievous and misleading. Chairman Meghen and fourteen other cadres were taken to the Video Conference Studio located at the Secretariat complex at Dispur as the NIA produced two protected witnesses in a court in Delhi citing security reasons it was clarified. The statements of the witnesses were taken through video conference. All these NIA courts were stage managed by the government. It added that UNLF declared time and again that, its Chairman, and cadres are all freedom fighters; and can not be tried under any Indian law court, as UNLF is fighting to regain the right to national selfdetermination of the Manipuri peoples which India treacherously usurped.
\nThose TV Channels & newspapers which wrongly informed the public, besides creating confusion should make an apology in the larger interest of the media fraternity it was added.<\/p>\n\n
