{"id":53871,"date":"2013-03-01T20:39:08","date_gmt":"2013-03-02T01:39:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/manipur-mail.com\/?p=16089"},"modified":"2013-03-01T20:39:08","modified_gmt":"2013-03-02T01:39:08","slug":"housewife-commits-suicide-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.manipur.org\/news\/2013\/03\/01\/housewife-commits-suicide-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Housewife commits suicide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><\/strong><br \/>\nIMPHAL, March 1 MNS NNN : A young housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself inside her house at Tera Lukram Leirak in Imphal West district in Manipur yesterday.<br \/>\nMeisnam Ningol Ashalata, wife of Arambam Kabikanta, was found hanging inside her room around 2:30 pm. She married Kabikanta three months back, her mother said. It is said that she was only 14.<br \/>\nKabikanta found her hanging from an iron bar over the ceiling of the room using a noose.<br \/>\nReports said Ashalata went to her parental home at Tera Loukham Leirak in Sagolband to attend a ritual feasting offered in the name of her grandmother before she returned to the husband\u2019s home around 2 pm and took the extreme step the same day. At around 2:30 pm, she was mysteriously found hanging inside her room.<br \/>\nThe husband\u2019s family reportedly informed victim\u2019s parents about the incident at around 3 pm.<br \/>\nHer father has lodged a complaint with the Lamphel Police Station, claiming false play over the death.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, a Joint Action Committee (JAC) has been formed to seek justice for the death of Ashalata. The JAC has also submitted a representation to the Chief Minister urging him to take necessary action to determine the exact circumstances that led to his daughter\u2019s death.<br \/>\nReports were also saying that a large number of irate residents from her locality stormed her husband\u2019s house Friday afternoon.
