She is married to Chandal Kal hailing from Silchar and is mother of a three year old daughter.<br \/>\nPresently, they are living in a rented house in Mantripukhri Bazar Area Lamlongei. Mr Chandal Kal is an employee with the Indian Oil Company (IOC) at Tulihal Airport Imphal.<br \/>\nOn the fateful evening of 27 Feb, 2013 at around 6:20 pm, Chandal Kal (husband) poured Kerosene on Sashima and set her on fire which resulted to 40% burn and Sashima is currently fighting for her life at RIMS.
