\nImphal, June 17 : The All India Tribal Students\u2019 Association, (AITSA) Delhi, a branch of the Mongoloid Peoples Forum, Delhi, termed sale of Application form for PMT exam for the session 2013-2014 as \u201cExposition of Greed and brazenness of the year\u201d by the Directorate of Health Services, Government of Manipur.
\nThe \u201cNational Eligibility \u2013 Cum- Entrance Test\u201d (NEET) was introduced in the year 2011 by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The Supreme Court allows its implementation from the session 2013 \u2013 2014. Accordingly, in the year 2012, the Director, RIMS, Imphal issued a notice stating that there will be a common PMT entrance exam under the NEET scheme from the session 2013-2014 as per the Supreme Court direction.
\nDirectorate of Health Services (DHS) invited application for MBBS\/ BDS course vides its letter No.140\/1\/2013-DHS dated 19th April, 2013. About 6718 young candidates applied for the course on payment of Rs 200\/- for application form, Rs 600\/- for exam fees, and Rs 25\/- for submitting demand draft per applicant. In the process, the DHS collected Rs 47, 92,200\/- from the applicants.
\nDate for the PMT examination was cancelled by a cabinet meeting on 6-6-2013, citing the same direction of the Supreme Court, (NEET) which the DHS has already notified way back in the year 2012.
\nAITSA, Delhi, while expressing its solidarity with the Manipur Student Federation (MSF), which is presently pursuing the matter, also urged all the civil societies\u2019 organization to collectively demand for CBI inquiry, refund of the entire amount collected from the applicants and booked the concerned official as per the law according to K.Zou, Convener, All India Tribal Students Association, Delhi.<\/p>\n\n
