He happens to be a leader closely associated with the royal family of Manipur. He had the distinction of being an elected Member of the Manipur Territorial Council from Churachandpur Constituency and also a Member of the first Manipur Legislative Assembly from Saitu Constituency&rdquo;, it said. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;His contribution towards Statehood movement, communal harmony and territorial integrity of Manipur shall always be remembered.
