IMPHAL, Feb 23: Continuing with its philantrophic works and reaching out to general public, 28 Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) assisted the villagers in leveling and preparing a football ground at Thayong Vill, Andro.
\nThe ground was dedicated to the people during the opening ceremony of the third Khurpui Festival. The effort was a befitting example of civil-military co-operation and the football field was prepared in a record time of seven days. 28 Assam Rifles provided a jcb and manpower for the same. The unit also assisted the locals with material support in smooth conduct of the festival.
\nThe villagers were elated and thanked the unit for fullfilling their long over due aspirations. such efforts will go a long way in building a lasting relationship and ushering era of lasting peace.<\/p>\n
