IMPHAL, November 23: The Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has appealed the state government to furnish the demands of the All Manipur Contract Lecturers’ Association which had started on November 1 in the valley districts.<\/p>\n
The lecturer’s association has been demanding for the extension of their contract period and to clear the backlog salaries.<\/p>\n
Speaking at a press conference at the DESAM office today, general secretary of Churachand Higher Secondary school students’ body said that due to the agitations taken up by the All Manipur Contract Lecture Association the lecturers have discontinued conducting normal classes which has highly affected the students.<\/p>\n
He continued that as the examination of class X and XII is approaching the failure of the lecturers to take classes have only created problems for the students in their preparation for the said exam.<\/p>\n
He continued that when the results are out the government will be blaming the government schools for the bad results.<\/p>\n\n
