IMPHAL, January 23: In a clear case of negligence by the state Home department, the nominations for the Police Medal for Gallantry, President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Police Medal for Meritorious Service have been deferred. <\/p>\n
The reason is due to the state Home department failure to notify the Ministry of Home Affairs, government of India about the particulars of the award recipients, sources said. <\/p>\n
The said medals which are to be sent from the Union Home Ministry are yet to reach the state. <\/p>\n
Ironically, the Republic Day parade on January 26 of which a full rehearsal which was held today will also include a medal distribution ceremony.<\/p>\n
The candidates who are to receive the medal as announced on last Independence Day are Jamkhongam Taothang, JC No 599 Jemadar, 5th IRB; Leimapokpam Amarjit Singh, Havildar number 1207761, 2nd IRB; P Mallana Goud IPS, Maibam Rameshwor Singh MPS; Thokchom Radhesyam Singh, IPS; Lourembam Sanajaoba Singh, MPS; Thaimei Gaipuril Kabui, MPS; Swellinghope Chiru, MPS; Chhatra Bahadur Bhattarai, Havildar 4th IRB and constable Konsam Sharat Singh. <\/p>\n\n
