THOUBAL, August 9: Students of Thoubal Leisangthem had organised a mass rally demanding the implementation of Inner Line Permit in Manipur and had resolved to stop providing any help to non-locals and not to buy any products from them as well today.\u00a0<\/span>

The rally organised by JCILPS, Thoubal branch was participated by students of Leishangthem Public English School, TMK English School, Thoudam Leishangthem High School and HTPK English School, etc.\u00a0<\/span>

The rally started from Thoudam Leishangthem and the demonstration proceeded around the area of Leishangthem Kelli Makhong and ended at its starting point. A sit in protest was later held at the rally end point.\u00a0<\/span>

Speaking to media persons, committee convener, Kh Rabi stated that student body will not withdraw from their stance until and unless their demand for ILP is implemented by the government. He further said that students can carry on with their studies properly only when ILP is implemented in the state.<\/span>

A joint meira rallies were also organised yesterday by Kangleicha Chaokhat Thourang Lup, Wanagai Tera Pishak, Young Defence Club, Wabagai, YDA Hiyanglam Tera Pishak and Khunja Chanura Nupi Marup to demand the implementation of ILP in Manipur. In continuation of the rally, the Kangleicha Chaokhat Thourang Lup along with local Meira Paibi lups and members of Thourang Lup had also organised a sit in protest at the compound of Kangleicha Chaokhat Thourang Lup today demanding ILP implementation in Manipur.\u00a0<\/span>

The Manipur State Pensioners\u2019 Union has stated that during a meeting held on August 9, the union resolved to support the demand for ILP implementation taken up by the JCILPS.\u00a0<\/span>

According to a release of the Union, a sit in protest will be held at its office on August 12 in relation with ILP implementation.\u00a0<\/span>

In this regard, members of the union are requested to come at 10 am to participate in the protest, it said.\u00a0<\/span>

NNN adds:\u00a0 Major Muslim social organizations on Saturday decided to join the rising Inner Line Permit (ILP) movement in Manipur and recommended the government to fix a date for implementation of ILP.<\/span>

A one-day discussion on ILP system in Manipur was jointly organized at Manipur Press Club here by the All Manipur Muslim Orgnisations\u2019 Coordinating Committee (AMMOCC), United Manipur Muslim Women Development Organisation (UMMWDO), All Manipur Muslim Students\u2019 Organisation (AMMSO) and Muslim Advocates\u2019\u2019 Legal Services Organisation (MALSO).<\/span>

The deliberation, also attended by representatives of other Muslim organizations, among others decided to extend full support and cooperate with the ongoing intensifying ILP movement by holding agitations in democratic way in Muslim dominated areas, to urge Manipur government to fix a date for implementation of ILP and to suggest to notify a list of indigenous groups in the state in the official gazette. \u00a0<\/span>

Senior advocate and president of All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA) Khaidem Mani spoke as resource person during the discourse.<\/span>

Advocate Md Zakir, former president and advisor of AMMOCC, Sheikh Muhamuddin, general secretary, Islamic Cultural & Research Association (ICRA), advocate Md Rabi Khan, general secretary, MALSO and Anwari Noorjahan, president, UMMWDO and other leaders of Muslim social organizations took part in the discussion.<\/span><\/p>\n\n
