IMPHAL July 8: All the repairing and renovation works of Primary Health Centres under Family Welfare Department for the year 2014-15 were executed by the department itself without assigning the works to any work related department or agency.

This was admitted by the Health minister Phungzathang Tonsing in the Assembly today in response to a question raised by MLA R K Anand Singh.

20 such programmes were supposedly carried out ranging from Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 9,99,891 in six districts namely Imphal East, Imphal West, Churachandpur, Bishnupur, Senapati and Chandel, he said.

MLA R K Anand Singh was concern about the basis/criteria and provision on which the respective dept implemented works without any monitoring.

To a query on the date of Oath Taking Ceremony of the newly elected Autonomous District Council members asked by MLA Dikho, the Home Minister replied that it is under process.

Regarding to a question raised by MLA Samuel Risom regarding Winson Kamodang, the former headman of Ramphoi (Nambisha) Village who is presently in a Myanmar jail, the Home Minister said that he is presently in a Myanmar jail.

He further informed the house that the State Government has already moved the central Government/ MHA to take the matter with Ministry of External Affairs at the diplomatic level for repatriation of Winson Kamodang to his country.

MLA Samuel Risom informed the House that according to reliable source, the person is in a pitiable condition with serious ill health. The MLA alleged that he was arrested on flimsy ground and the government should intervene for his release else he will have to serve nine years in the Myanmar jail unnecessarily.
