Bomb blast

IMPHAL, Jul 1: A bomb exploded at the residential gate of former JNIMS Medical Superintendent Dr L Kokindro at Heirangoithong Maibam Leikai at around 7.30 pm today.
Some portions of Dr Kokindro’s residential gate and a culvert located nearby were damaged by the impact of the blast.
Rear wind-shield of a car (Beat) parked at the garage of Chabungbam Ibotombi was shattered by the blast.
Notably, Dr Kokindro and Ch Ibotombi share a common entry gate.
Soon after the blast, a team of Imphal West District Police led by Additional SP (Ops), SDPO Singjamei and OC Singjamei police station rushed to the spot and inspected the blast site.
While local people have condemned the blast in the strongest term, a case has been registered at Singjamei police station.
