Gathering\u00a0\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0European Manipur Association (EMA) was\u00a0recently\u00a0\u00a0held\u00a0from\u00a0\u00a0the\u00a0\u00a026th to 28th\u00a0of\u00a0August at Margate, one\u00a0of the most popular\u00a0\u00a0seaside holiday resorts\u00a0on the eastern coast\u00a0of Kent, United Kingdom.\u00a0Many individuals and families\u00a0of Manipur origin who are currently staying in\u00a0Europe attended the annual social gathering, the event has become one of the most significant yearly event\u00a0of the EMA members\u00a0to come together on\u00a0a common platform and share a memorable weekend of discussing current issues, enjoying cultural activities, savouring traditional culinary\u00a0thereby creating a sense of togetherness.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: Group-Photo<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>Continuing\u00a0EMA\u2019s effort to share and promote authentic local\u00a0dishes from various parts of Manipur, the attending members brought homemade delicacies of different varieties\u00a0on the first evening of the get-together.\u00a0Members also shared authentic traditional Manipuri herbs and vegetables grown lovingly at their gardens in Europe.\u00a0The evening came to an end after a series of mini meetings and gatherings of members, exchanging greeting, views and ideas on different issues ranging from personal to current burning Ladies Group Photo<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>The General body meeting of the association\u00a0was inaugurated\u00a0by the out-going Chairperson, Dr. Shamurailatpam Krishnananda Sharma\u00a0on the morning of 27th August, followed by organisational reporting from the outgoing General Secretary, Mr. Santosh Sougrakpam, Treasurer, Mr. Guneshwar Mayanglambam and Information Secreatry, Mr. Shanjoy Mairembam respectively, to update members on the\u00a0various projects, activities and achievements of EMA during the previous year.<\/div>\n<div>\n<div id=\"attachment_23162\" class=\"wp-caption committee members for the period 2011-2013.<\/div>\n<div>The unanimously elected new members are:<\/div>\n<div>1) Chairperson:\u00a0<strong>Mr. Okram Bishwajit<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>2) General young\u00a0members,\u00a0Marina Yaiphabi Mayanglambam, the beautiful five-years-old daughter of Guneshwar Mayanglambam and Mayanglambam Ongbi Sougaijam Nalita\u00a0performed a mesmerising\u00a0\u201cThoibi Jagoi\u201d\u00a0in full traditional attire, followed by brief information on the symbols and meaning behind the Meitei Jagoi. The spirit of culture was followed by the indispensable Manipuri sports spirit &#8211;\u00a0<em>Football, Thouri-Chingnabi and Chaphu-Thugaibi<\/em>.
