\nImphal, Dec 28: A house of a worker of BJP candidate O. Indira of Thoubal was damaged by some persons this morning around 10.30 a.m. however police could bring the situation under control.
\nThe worker was identified as Leishanthem Kunjabati (50) Thoubal Leishangkhong Mamang Leikai.
\nThe state BJP termed the attack a \u201clife attempt\u201d on the party\u2019s women wing president.
\nBJP vice president professor S Tiken described the incident as \u201cvery unfortunate\u201d and strongly condemned the act committed by the supporters of the chief minister. He also expressed serious concerned over the repeated violent incidents that occurred in the constituency of Ibobi in the past few weeks.
\nTiken said the yesterday incident will be put up before the law court as well as the Election Commission of India so that the persons involved in the dastardly act can be punished in a befitting manner. Most of the attackers were government employees and VDF personnel, the state BJP vice president alleged and further told the media that the family members of Kunjabati were somehow managed to rescue by O Indira, an intending candidate in the coming 10th assembly elections scheduled to be held January 28 next year. <\/p>\n\n
