Dimapur, Feb 20 NNN: The tirade between the Congress in Nagaland and the Naga People\u2019s Front (NPF) has snowballed with both the parties have started hurling each other with serious allegations.
\nOn Sunday, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) had accused the NPF of spending Rs 30 crore for the recent Manipur assembly election. The NPF has rubbished this allegation on Monday.
\n Abu Metha who is the press secretary to chief minister Neiphiu Rio said it was Manipur chief minister O Ibobi Singh who used police force in favour of the Congress party in the assembly election. \u201cNPF strictly adhered the election code of conduct laid down by the Election Commission of India. Not a single case of confiscation of money had been found in the 12 assembly constituencies the NPF had contested in Manipur poll,\u201d said Abu Metha.
\nIt can be noted that on Sunday Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president S.I Jamir had alleged that the NPF was draining the economy of Nagaland for Manipur election. \u201cNaga People\u2019s Front (NPF)\u2019s foolish dream of ruling in the two states of Manipur and
\nNagaland has been draining the economy of Nagaland,\u201d S.I Jamir said while adding,\u201d Nagaland state\u2019s deficit has crossed Rs 800 crore but the NPF had the audacity to spend Rs 30 crore for election in Manipur.\u201d The NPCC chief said that NPF owes an explanation to the people of Nagaland for such lavish and unaccounted spending.
\nIt is worth noting that the NPF after having had modified its nomenclature, had entered Manipur and is fighting in the 2012 Manipur assembly election by fielding 12 candidates in the districts of Churachandpur, Chandel, Tamenglong, Senapati and Ukhrul.<\/p>\n\n
