\nImphal, Mar 31: Discovering the transportation of banned drugs in Lilong Turel Ahenbi of Imphal West district, troops of 28 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) launched operation in the area and apprehended four drug peddlers on 30 Mar 12. The apprehendees were identified as Nuruddin,24 yrs, s\/o Abdul Basis, r\/o Lilong Makha Leikai, Ziur Rahman,27 yrs, s\/o Islauddin, r\/o Lilong Turel Ahenbi,Munir,37 yrs, s\/o Abdullah alias Noor Rahman, r\/o Lilong Turel Ahenbi and Yahiya,30 yrs, s\/o Abdul Gaffar, r\/o Lilong Sarukhong. Six kgs of Poppy Husk, one processing machine and four tin of Lime stone were recovered from the apprehendees who alongwith recoveries was handed over to Narcotic Control Bureau, Imphal.
\nMeanwhile, Medical team of 35 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (S) organized a medical camp at Aigejang Village on 30 March 2012. A total of 225 patients from Aigejang and nearby areas were diagnosed and provided medicines.
\nIn another occasion,18 SIKH of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) provided ration to Oinam Ibohal Polyclinic School, Keishampat which is a boarding cum computer training centre for physically handicapped and blind.
\nSimilarly,36 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) distributed sports items to the \u201cEvergreen English Medium School\u2019, Phoilen. The items were handed to the school authority in a function held at Phopilen village on 29 Mar 12.<\/p>\n\n
