{"id":327860,"date":"2017-11-23T13:30:00","date_gmt":"2017-11-23T18:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ifp.co.in\/item\/5330-repeal-loktak-lake-protection-act-demands-allafum"},"modified":"2017-11-23T13:30:00","modified_gmt":"2017-11-23T18:30:00","slug":"repeal-loktak-lake-protection-act-demands-allafum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.manipur.org\/news\/2017\/11\/23\/repeal-loktak-lake-protection-act-demands-allafum\/","title":{"rendered":"Repeal Loktak Lake (Protection) Act, demands ALLAFUM"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"K2FeedIntroText\">\n<p>IMPHAL | Nov 23<\/p>\n<p>All Loktak Lake Areas Fishermen\u2019s Union has appealed to the state government to repeal the Manipur Loktak Lake (Protection) Act 2006 in the interest of the Loktak Lake Phumshang dwellers and the people of Manipur, said a release.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Further, the MLAs from the eight assembly constituencies in and around Loktak Lake are urged to work for the repealing of the said act, it said.\u00a0 This act has resulted in the loss of several household materials, rations, essential documents, fishing gears, money, etc., of the Phumshang dwellers, it added.<\/p>\n<p>Recalling illegal eviction and arson of Ramsar site\u2019s Phumshang (phumhuts), at Loktak Lake, in November 2011, the release said in the condemnable act, Loktak development authority (LDA) along with its agencies burned down 777 Phumshangs out of the 1147 Phumshangs located inside the Loktak Lake, without the prior and informed consent of the Loktak Phumshang dwellers.<\/p>\n<p>The release further mentioned that section 20, 21 &amp;
