Id-ul-Fitr was celebrated today throughout the state. Mass prayers were held followed by feasting . Muslims dressed in white attires greeted each other to celebrate the festival marking the end of the holy month of Ramzan.
\nAt the mosques Muslims greeted \u201cId Mubarak\u201d . Verses from the Quran were read out by the Ulema at the mosques .
\n27 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) organized \u201cEID-UL-FITR\u2019\u2019 celebrations at Soura and Keirak
\n in Thoubal District . The main Eid congregation was held at the Idgah at Soura and the
\nMasjid at Keirak. The highlight of the event was the rendering of the \u2018Id Namaaz\u2019 by the devout Muslims. After the
\nprayers, a social event was organised at the Soura Community Hall, where the troops of 27 Assam Rifles greeted their
\nbrethren and shared food with them. The Maulvi of the village conveyed that \u201cEid Ul Fitr\u201d is the time for self
\nreflection and focusing on the values of all the faiths and Id-ul-Fitr also fosters brotherhood and interaction. The Commandant 27 Assam Rifles, in his message, conveyed his heartiest greetings and best wishes to all and exhorted them to let the spirit of Id-Ul-Fitr build in us the spirit of compassion and love and promote unity, peace and prosperity.
\n In another occasion,18 SIKH of 9 Sector celebrated EID in Bengoon village with the local people on 20 Aug 2012. Villagers alongwith the students of Madrassa and members of anti drug association were present for celebrations. The troops from 18 SIKH attended the Namaaz at the Masjid and wished the whole community on this day, a happy and prosperous time ahead. <\/p>\n\n
