IMPHAL, Oct 10 NNN : The All Zeliangrong Students\u2019 Union (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) and Zeliangrong Youth Front (AMN) have strongly condemned in the strongest term the rape of four girls at gun point and wanton killing of domestic animals in residential areas, at Khoupum Valley in Tamenglong district by Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) cadres on October 6.
\n\u201cWe have no appropriate words to express our horror and shock at such exhibition of inhuman cruelties. Every right thinking citizens should condemn such heinous crime against humanity in general and the Zeliangrong people in particular. That, such acts against women have no space in the modern society but befitting for animal kingdom,\u201d fumed the AZSU and ZYF.
\n\u201cIs this the way to treat your sisters?\u201d they asked while adding, \u201c If you don\u2019t respect the public, who will respect you. Public is water and you are like fish,\u201d the AZSU and ZYF told the militant outfit.It is a clear picture that the State agencies failed to protect the peace loving bonafide citizens of Khoupum Valley, they stated. \u201c We appeal the state to immediately assist medical treatments, rehabilitation and reparation to the rape victims and institute impartial and independent inquiry into the case and book those found guilty according to law,\u201d the AZSU and ZYF demanded.
\nBoth the organisations then appealed all the \u201cNaga national workers\u201d to shun bloodshed and make way for peace among brothers in the region. \u201cIt is a fact that bloodshed and bullets never solve any problem in the world history and we should remember that people are anxiously waiting for peaceful solution with mutual dialogue and understanding once for all,\u201d the AZSU and ZYF stated.
\nMeanwhile, as the condemnations pour in on the alleged gang rape of Khoupum Valley in Tamenglong district few days ago, ZUF publicity secretary A Dangmei said both Dibonpou Kamei and Ladjanbung Malangmei had defected from the ZUF \u201c and so they have nothing to do with our outfit.\u201d The ZUF leader stated, \u201cOnce a cadre is defected from an outfit, that cadre is no longer considered to be in the organisation.\u201d He clarified that Ladjanbung and Dibonpou had defected from the outfit with weapons.<\/p>\n\n
