IMPHAL, December 6: A five day workshop on ‘Indigenous archery & classical Indian archery’ organized by Huyen Lallong Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association begins today at the association’s premise at Irilbung.     <\/p>\n

The workshop is being conducted by Hendrik Wiethasi, who is a professional artist from Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany.<\/p>\n

“Since 2000 I wrote and published four books about archery. As well I translated the “Astanga hrdayam,” the basic scripture of Ayurveda and the “Dhanurveda” into German language, which brought me to the classical Indian Archery,” Hendrik said.<\/p>\n

The inaugural function was attended by MLA K Tharmajit, Padmashri G Gourakishor Sharma, Director, Huyen Lallong Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association, L Upendro Sharma, Director, JNMDA and L Dilip Singh, chairman, Imphal Urban Co-operative Bank Manipur as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.             <\/p>\n
