Imphal Apr 15 MNS UNA : MIlitants on Sunday launched an attack on the security force in Churachandpur district by exploding an improvised explosive device (IED) even as a minor boy sustained splinter injury when another IED planted on the roadside went off in Thoubal district.
\nThe IED in Churachandpur district was reportedly exploded on th roadside at Hiangtam village near the international border with Myanmar under Singhat police station of Churachandpur district while
\nfoot patrolling party of troops of 39 Assam Rifles was passing the area yesterday, around 9.30 am said a police source.
\nA report reaching here said a trooper sustained injury in the blast. . The report said that the trooper sustained critical injury in the blast and has been evacuated to a unit hospital of the Assam Rifles.
\nThe minor boy was identified as one Md. Nasirudin shah (12) son of Karim Mudin shah.
\nIn the explosion two houses were partially damage by the impact. Another IED planted just 20 feet away from the blast site was defused by the bomb expert around 8am added police source.
\nA rebel was arrested with eight hand grenades, a police source said Sunday.
