The maximum number of sites for hydel power generation projects have been identified in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.<br \/>\nArunachal Pradesh, 677, 1341.38 MW, Assam 119, 238.69 MW, Manipur 114, 109.13 MW, Meghalaya 97, 230.05 MW, Mizoram 72 , 168.9 MW, Nagaland 99, 196.98 MW, Tripura 13, 46.86 MW, Sikkim 88, 266.64 MW.<br \/>\nThe Ministry of Environment &amp; Forests (MoEF) is insisting upon basin-wise cumulative Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Studies of such projects to deal effectively with likely problems relating to submergence, rehabilitation &amp; resettlement issues and likely impact in the down-stream areas. The MoEF also stipulates comprehensive mitigative measures for environmental safety while according environment clearance to run-of-the river (R-O-R) projects although they have only a limited environmental impact.<br \/>\nThis information was given by MoS (I\/C) Power Jyotiraditya M.
