IMPHAL, January 2: Locals of Senjam Chirang village recovered wreckage of a Second World War aircraft in the interior part of Kounu Ching, Senapati district. <\/p>\n
The wreckage- the main engine of the aircraft- was first detected by members of the Senjam Chirang Youth Club and Kounu Lairenbi Thougal Lup on December 30, 2013 who was on their way to worship a local deity, Kounu Lairenbi. <\/p>\n
The wreckage was retrieved today. <\/p>\n
It has been informed that the engine wreckage of the aircraft weighs about 300 kilogram and comprises of 14 pistons.<\/p>\n
Many believed that the aircraft could be that of the allied forces.<\/p>\n\n
