JIRIBAM, January 7: A joint official verification meeting on the boundary dispute of Jiribam sub-division and Tamenglong district was held today at the guest house of PWD, Jiribam at 8:30 am.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, officials of Tamenglong district was led by C Arthur, Deputy Commissioner, and included Joseph Paolin, ADM and Shantikumar Kabui SDO Tousem whereas the Jiribam team was led by Y Iboyaima Singh, additional Deputy Commissioner and included Imosana Singh SDC, Th Mani Singh ASSO, O Biken Singh, Mandal.<\/p>\n
The meeting was also attended by officials of Directorate of Settlement led by Md Rashim uddin and his three officials.<\/p>\n
The official team first visited Khadagor village and then Pangkotphai, Ngahmunphai, Phaituol and Tatbung areas. <\/p>\n
The source of dispute was raised on the complaint of Khadagor, Pangkotphai, Ngahmunphai, Phaituol and Tatbung villagers. <\/p>\n
They claimed that the land of Tamenglong district was encroached by Jiribam sub-division. <\/p>\n
Based on their claim, the official team had visited all the specific disputed areas for the settlement of the boundary issue. <\/p>\n
The verification of the disputed land was held as per land record of Department of settlement and on the physical position of the two districts.<\/p>\n\n
