BISHNUPUR, January 7: In connection with the alleged killing of Chaobi Bibi during the intervening night of January 5-6 inside her own house, a public meeting was held at Kwakta today.<\/p>\n
The meeting was also attended by Moirang SDPO Raghumani, Tronglaobi Zilla Parishad member Bichand and social worker Md Nur Rahman.<\/p>\n
Chaobi Bibi, 65 wife of (L) Ushmail of Kwakta Makha Leikai, Ward No 7 was allegedly killed inside her own house, and her belonging robbed. <\/p>\n
Angered by the alleged killing and robbery, the locals had also held a public meeting on January 6 at 4 pm at the Kwakta playground and formed a JAC.<\/p>\n
During the meeting it was resolved to condemn the act of killing Chaoba Bibi for a few things and to demand the Moirang police to take up a case and arrest the accused at the earliest.<\/p>\n
The meeting had also decided that the police should recover the items lost from Bibi’s house for which a list of items missing was submitted to the police.<\/p>\n
The culprits found involved in the killing will be ousted from the village and their properties will be turned into public properties, the meeting had also resolved.<\/p>\n
The meeting had also resolved to demand a Rs 10 lakh compensation for the bereaved family.<\/p>\n\n
