IMPHAL, January 9: At least one person was killed and four others sustained injuries when the truck carrying them fell into a gorge yesterday around 11 am at Chandel.<\/p>\n
The deceased has been identified as Khumukcham Kenedy, 28, son of Kh Membor of UmathelMakhaLeikai.<\/p>\n
Sources said that the truck (MN04-9791) was loaded with timber and suddenly lost control while trying to scale a slippery hillside.<\/p>\n
Soon after the mishap the injured were rushed to Jeevan Hospital, Kakching however Kenedy was declared brought dead.<\/p>\n
The sources further informed that the driver also sustained serious injuries. He has been identified as Tougantin, 30, son of beningchung of Heiboklog near Sarei Chandel.<\/p>\n\n
