Imphal, Jan 2: Manipur State Kala Akademi, Imphal is organising a 3-Day Festival of Classical and Creative Music-2011 from 4th to 6th January, 2012, starting 3:00 p.m. daily, at the auditorium of Manipur Dramatic Union, Imphal. The main objectives of the Festival emphasize on promotion, popularization and propagation of Classical Music with an academic fervor and exploration of talents of artistes of the creative music in both Matam Ishei and Orchestral Music of Manipur.
In the Hindusthani Classical Music category, altogether seven artistes are participating (three vocalists and four instrumentalists) along with their accompanists. In the Creative Music altogether forty-two artistes including the artistes of yesteryears and of the present day are participating in the Festival.i L. Birendrakumar Singh, National Akademi Awardee will inaugurate the Festival as the Chief Guest on 4th January, 2012 at 2.30 p.m. at the aforesaid venue, and Shri B. Jayentakumar Sharma, a renowned cultural personality of the State, and Prof. Jodha C Sanasam, President, AMMIK will grace over the function as President and Guest of Honour of Experts scoff at Delhi’s optimism to secure peace in region
