New Delhi, Feb 20 : The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Superintendent of Central Excise, Ahmedabad for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 14,500/- from the Complainant.
CBI registered a case against a Superintendent of Central Excise working under Ahmedabad-I Commissionerate, Ahmedabad on the allegations for demanding a bribe of Rs.14,500/- from the complainant for processing the Monthly Returns of his company and documents for export filing during last seven months. The Superintendent has allegedly asked the complainant to pay bribe of Rs.1,000/- for processing of each Monthly Return and bribe of Rs.500/- for each document of export filing in future also. CBI laid a trap and the Superintendent of Central Excise, was caught red handed while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 14,500/- from the complainant at his office.
Searches at the residence of the accused located at Ahmedabad and his office premises were conducted. During the search, documents related to investment in immovable & movable property including a receipt of payment amounting of Rs. 10,00,000/- for booking of a Flat at Vadodara were found.
The accused was produced before the Designated Court at Ahmedabad. He is at present in Judicial Custody.
The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a private person based at New Delhi for possession of Fake Indian Counterfeit Currency Notes (FICN) of face value Rs. 4,93,500/-(approx).
A Case was registered by CBI on the complaint of DRI authorities subsequent to the recovery/seizure of Fake Indian Counterfeit Currency Notes (FICN) of face value Rs. 4,93,500/-(approx) from the possession of a Delhi based Private Person who had arrived at the IGI Airport, Delhi by International flight. The seized FICN consist of two bundles of Rs. 1000/- denomination and three bundles of Rs. 500/- denomination.
The arrested accused was produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate(CMM), Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi. She is at present in Judicial Custody.
