IMPHAL, November 20: As part of 48 hrs bandh on National Highways in Naga inhabited areas called by United Naga Council, a section of the NH2 Imphal -Moreh road was blocked today by the bandh supporters.

Bandh supporters blocked the Imphal – Moreh section of the National Highway 2 at Lamkang Khunou Village and restricted vehicles coming from Moreh and Imphal side to proceed except vehicles carrying patient and emergency services.

However, a team of IRB and Thoubal Police Commandos rushed at the spot where the bandh was enforced and made the stranded vehicles to proceed to their destination without any hindrance including the Royal Rider’s Motorcycle rally coming towards Moreh from Imphal.

However, there is no untoward incident during the bandh till filing of this report.

It may be mentioned that, the UNC has called the 48 hrs bandh on National Highways in Naga inhabited areas from midnight of 19 November in protest against non resumption of tripartite talks on Alternative Arrangement and other issues.
