On 26 May 2016 NFSA rice finds way to open markets, wrote The Sangai Express. Dr Nimaichand Luwang, ex-Minister shouted at the top of his voice on 7 June, from MPP office that, from Imphal East district, one MLA swindled 1433 quintals of rice amounting to Rs 34 lakh and another MLA swindled 1150 quintals of rice amounting to Rs 27 lakh approx.

Co-ordinating Body of Trade Unions, Manipur observed the Quit India Day on Aug 9 at the office of the Manipur Electricity Employees’ Union, Keishampat power house. The Union also made an appeal to all employees and employees’ unions in the State to support the all India general strike on September 2.

RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug 10: Experienced Indian archer Laishram Bombayla Devi advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the women’s individual recurve competition after defeating Chinese Taipei’s Lin Shih-Chia at the Rio Olympics here on Wednesday. Playing in her third Olympics, the 31-year-old from Manipur, who finished 24th in the ranking round, dished out a dominating show to get the better off Lin 6-2, in the 1/16 elimination here.

KSO calls for urgent protection of Mini-Secretariat

Ccpur, Aug 10: KSO Chuarchandpur has today urged the State Government to take up steps to protect the Mini-Secretariat building from mudslide triggered by Tuibuong rivulet, reports our correspondent.
Conducting a spot inspection today, KSO leaders said if the State Government delays the process of protecting the area, any substantial rainfall from now will risk the structure’s stability.
