Imphal, Aug 13: State chess player Vikramjit (7.5) ended his chance at the finals of the 1st NITHM All India Open Fide Rating Chess tournament in Hyderabad after losing to M Srinivasa Rao (8.0) of Andhra Pradesh.
In Round 6, Vikramjit (5.5) drew with A Balkrishan (5.5) of Karnataka and defeated N Lokesh (6.0) of Tamil Nadu in Round 8. Meanwhile, Telangana’s M. Chakravarthy Reddy clinched the championship title, winning Rs 1,00,000 after a tie-breaker.
