KTC resists survey of Kpi under urban category

Kangpokpi Town Committee today registered its resistance against ongoing survey of Kangpokpi Town under urban category by department of economics and statistics government of Manipur and petitioned their objection to the director of the department concerned.

The Kangpokpi Town Committee said that Kangpokpi Town is under the administration of the Kangpokpi Town Committee which is functioning directly under the District Council Administration, Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi.

It also pointed out that the Kangpokpi Town Committee under any circumstances has so far not received or accepted any forms of development schemes and financial grants under any urban funds.

It further said that the ongoing survey of Kangpokpi by directorate of economics and statistics, Government of Manipur under urban category is highly objectionable and the Kangpokpi Town Committee will not accept under any circumstances of such survey categorizing Kangpokpi under urban category.

It urges the concerned department to immediately intervene into the matter and initiate prompt and necessary action in the larger interest and welfare of the general public.
