MNS: As part of the ongoing three day May 9 to 11 District Athletic Meet, 2012organised by the District Administration and District Board of Education (SSA-RTE & RMSA), Churachandpur at Lanka Public Ground, the District Athletic Meet, 2012 for Schools of Churachandpur commenced yesterday with the Deputy Commissioner, SDOs and officials from the Education Department taking part in the event.
A total of 50 schools both Government and Private Schools participated in the event which included 29 schools from Churachandpur Sub-Division alone, three schools from Tipaimukh, seven schools from Henglep, six schools from Samulamlan, three schools from Singngat and two schools from Thanlon. Items in the Track events are 100 Metres, 200 m, 4 x 100 Relay Race, High Jump, Long Jump, Short Pat, Javelin Throw and Discus Throw.
The closing Ceremony will be held here tomorrow at 9:30 AM at Lamka Public Ground. Phungzathang Tonsing, Minister (Health & Family Welfare, GAD CADA) will grace the occasion as Chief Guest.t taking part in the event.
