IMPHAL April 9: Moidangpok locals found an IED fitted inside a tin can along the National Highway 37, Imphal-Jiribam road some 200 meters far from the residence of sitting MP Dr Th Meinya around 11.45 am today.
The MP is also the INC candidate for the Inner Seat in the 16th Lok Sabha Election.
According to reliable information, the IED fitted tin can contain 300 grams of gelatine sticks and splinters. The locals informed the police, who arrived soon and detonated the bomb around 12.30pm.
