Imphal, Dec 24 : The All India Tribal Students’ Association, (AITSA) Delhi and the Mongoloid People’s Forum appealed to the people of
Manipur and particularly to the organizing committee of the Bandh in protest against the Molestation of an actress, who
was on a Good will mission to Chandel. The Association condemned the shameful act of the miscreant in the highest term as molesting woman is not a common practice in a Mongoloid society. Such cheap conduct should be collectively fought against beyond communal lines.
The Association appealed to the Manipur State Shumang Leela Council and other organizations leading the indefinite bandh to immediately relieve innocent passenger who are on the way to their home town. Keeping in view of the vulnerable social and political situation in the state, the organizer of the Bandhs should cautiously demonstrate their anger to the culprit and the government without victimizing innocent people. If the state wide Bandh is carried on violently, there is high probability of communal flare up in the state as we are more prone to communal sentiment rather than the applying our good will. The state government should not be the first to impose AFSA on its own people and must restrain from violent means of controlling protester. The Forum also appeals to ANSUM, KSO, AMSU and DESAM to jointly intervene in the issue and resolve the matter in the earliest possible time. As ascertained by the joint Manipur Tribal Leaders Imphal is no more safe for the tribals said a press statement issue by the All Manipur Tribal Union.
The objective of the agitation to press the government against the insane act that happened at Chandel headquarter is being misused to discriminate and atrocitize the tribals it was stated.
As such tribals are urged to remain alert and vigil to subside the volatile attitude of the disguised bandh supporters and to prepare for mass exodus if necessary said the AMTU release sign by the general secretary Romeo Bungdon.
Home Minister of the state is hereby requested to provide adequate security escort to deport the tribals to their native places as preventive measure.
